March, 2020 - 12 filters are in operation in Russia

Recently Mecana’s team in cooperation with its exclusive Russian Distributor NPK MEDIANA Filter installed and started up 12x SF18 OptiFiber PES-13® PCM Filters in the city of Podolsk in Russia. The units with total filter surface area of 1080 m2 will treat around 10.000 m3/h of waste water. The Mecana tertiary Filtration solution will improve the effluent water quality of a WWTP allowing the plant to discharge less than 10 mg/l of TSS.

february, 2020 - Mecana develops in southern europe

Mecana pile cloth media disc filters are able to use different filter materials for different applications. At this site we are achieving TSS outlet concentrations of less than 3 mg/l with our OptiFiber PES-14® media and the number of nematode eggs in the effluent is better than the required standard of 1 per 10 litres.

January, 2020 - Efficient removal of microplastics in road wastewater

The majority of microplastic contaminants enter our environment through tyre abrasion. This topic is increasingly becoming the focus of public attention, but planners and municipal decision-makers are also increasingly dealing with microplastics. April, 2019 - Mecana is back in Russia

Mecana Umwelttechnik, in cooperation with its exclusive Russian Distributor NPK MEDINA Filter, will provide seven SF15/75 filters to the Nevinnomyssky Azot WWTP. Some existing concrete tanks will be revamped in order to install 7 new OptiFiber® PES-13 Pile Cloth Media filters, allowing the plant to discharge less than 10 mg/l of TSS. This is a delighting Russian comeback for Mecana, thanks to its strong Russian partner NPK MEDIANA Filter and a fruitful cooperation since 2018.

March, 2019 - Mecana develops in the United ARAB EMIRATES

The Mecana team is pleased to inform you about its new exclusive partnership with ARESCO Trading Co. LLC for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Both ARESCO and Mecana are confident to develop new waste water tertiary filtration projects in the UAE, targeting existing RGFs facilities refurbishment and new tertiary filtration systems to build.

Together, ARESCO and Mecana have already rehabilitated two Rapid Gravity Filters at Dubai's Al Aweer WWTP. The new disc filters equipped with the exclusive OptiFiber® PES-13 filter cloth have been in service since the summer of 2018.

March, 2019 - Low P Objective for an Estonian lake

Thanks to the trust of aqua consult baltic OÜ, Mecana Umwelttechnik in partnership with RVT Ehitus OÜ will supply their PCMF filtration technology to the Põlva WWTP (Estonia), for 40’000 PE capacity. This will allow the plant to discharge treated water with less than 0,5 mg/l in total P.
