March, 2019 - Mecana develops in the United ARAB EMIRATES

The Mecana team is pleased to inform you about its new exclusive partnership with ARESCO Trading Co. LLC for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Both ARESCO and Mecana are confident to develop new waste water tertiary filtration projects in the UAE, targeting existing RGFs facilities refurbishment and new tertiary filtration systems to build.

Together, ARESCO and Mecana have already rehabilitated two Rapid Gravity Filters at Dubai's Al Aweer WWTP. The new disc filters equipped with the exclusive OptiFiber® PES-13 filter cloth have been in service since the summer of 2018.

March, 2019 - Low P Objective for an Estonian lake

Thanks to the trust of aqua consult baltic OÜ, Mecana Umwelttechnik in partnership with RVT Ehitus OÜ will supply their PCMF filtration technology to the Põlva WWTP (Estonia), for 40’000 PE capacity. This will allow the plant to discharge treated water with less than 0,5 mg/l in total P.

February, 2019 - Mecana develops in Norway

The Mecana team is pleased to inform you about its new exclusive partnership with AQWA As for Norway. The different applications of the Mecana OptiFiber® Pile Cloth Media Filters will be deployed by AQWA AS to address Norway’s strict environmental challenges. Particularly with regards to very low P objectives, < 0,1 mg/l in total P.

February, 2019 - Micropollutants treatment in Germany

Mecana will supply four SF 18/90 PCMF filters equipped with the exclusive OptiFiber® PES-14 Pile Cloth media (5 micron) in order to treat micro-pollutants with Powdered Activated Carbon at the Greven WWTP in Germany.
Once in operation, this will be the sixth Mecana installation in Europe for micro-pollutants removal.

January, 2019 - Mecana develops in the Netherlands

The Mecana team is pleased to inform you about its new exclusive partnership with ELIQUO Water & Energy BV for the Netherlands. The different applications of the Mecana OptiFiber® Pile Cloth Media Filters perfectly fit into the development strategy of the ELIQUO Water Group in the Netherlands.

November, 2018 - Tertiary filtration and low P in Neumünster (Germany)

Mecana in partnership with PFI Hamburg and DeEncon have been awarded a contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of six SF18/90 Pile Cloth Media Filters to upgrade the Neumünster WWTP.

The filters will use the exclusive OptiFiber PES-14® media will have a design capacity of 4400 m3/h. They will be used in order to decrease the phosphorus discharge in the the final effluent.

November, 2018 - Tertiary treatment in Al Khiyam (South Lebanon)

Mecana will suply 2 PCMF filters with its exclusive OptiFiber® PES-13 cloth media to EMCO Engineering Ltd for the Al Khiyam WWTP in South Lebanon. This tertiary treatment will allow the plant to discharge less than 10 mg/l in TSS. The facility will be commissioned in spring 2019.

After the installations of Doudah in Djibouti (2014), Aswan-Kima 3 in Egypt (2018) and Al Warsan in Dubai (2018), this confirms Mecana's breakthrough in the Middle East where its OptiFiber® Pile Cloth Media Filters are a real alternative to traditional tertiary filters. More compact, cheaper in investment, and less expensive in operation.

September, 2018 - Low P objective in Rovaniemi (Finland)

Mecana, in partnership with Flootech Oy and PÖYRY Finland Oy, will supply one PCMF filter with its exclusive OptiFiber® PES-14 cloth media at the Rovaniemi WWTP in Finland. This tertiary treatment will allow the plant to discharge less than 0,3 mg/l in total P. The facility will be commissioned in early 2019.

July, 2018 - Non-metallic chain scrapers (Switzerland)

Mecana, in partnership with Techfina, will supply 3 non-metallic scraping systems for the extension of the Villette WWTP in Geneva (80’000 PE, Switzerland). These scrapers will work on the new longitudinal clarifiers 60 m long and 12 meters wide, they will be mounted in November 2019.
